This programme is an introduction for people who are interested, or already working, in the service, sales and retail sectors.
Through this programme you will establish standards of professional practice for customer service and sales support that can provide customers, both internal and external, with confidence in the service they receive.
This qualification that will help you when applying for employment in a position, under general supervision, in a retail environment.
The programme is delivered online, with one face-to-face workshop per week where you will receive support and guidance from your tutor.
Workshops are held in Nelson, Richmond and Blenheim.
What will I learn?
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
apply basic health and safety requirements in a service, sales and retail sector workplace
apply basic communication, teamwork, problem solving and self-management skills to service, sales and retail sector work
apply basic customer service and sales support skills, associated with an entry level role, to service, sales and retail sector work.
This qualification can lead onto the New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 3).
This qualification will help you in applying for work in training as junior sales, service or retail assistants in a wide variety of retail and sales workplaces.
English language requirements:
If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.
IELTS 5.0 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart.
Note: Students who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.
